New York rapper Troy Ave was shot on Christmas Day while sitting in his Maserati at a Brooklyn intersection just months after he reportedly accidentally shot himself in the legs during a deadly T.I. concert.
Attorney Scott Lemon says his client, whose real name is Roland Collins, was on his way to visit family Sunday evening when he was shot twice at the intersection of East 91st Street and Linden Blvd in East Flatbush.
Police say the 31-year-old Collins was in a red Maserati when a man fired several rounds into the car, striking Collins once in the shoulder and grazing his head.

Collins apparently drove himself six blocks away in an attempt to get to the hospital before he pulled over and a good Samaritan drove him the rest of the way to Brookdale Hospital.
According to WNBC, a bullet is currently ‘lodged into his back, and doctors are currently trying to figure out whether or not to remove it.’
At the time of the incident, his girlfriend was riding in the passenger seat of the $145,000 car, but was not harmed, Collins’ attorney said.
The couple was heading to his family’s house for Christmas dinner, WABC reported.
In a statement, his lawyer said: ‘Tonight, Troy Ave was targeted again… on Christmas.
‘In Brooklyn, going to meet his family for the holiday, he was shot two times. Thankfully, he will survive the second attempt on his life.
‘As we have said from the beginning — he is a victim. We pray for his speedy recovery.’
Fellow New York rapper 50 Cent went to go visit Collins in the hospital on Sunday evening.
Police had initially believed Collins shot McPhatter, as the gun linked to his death was allegedly found in Collins’s car, but they now believe the shooter was someone else.
After the May incident, Collins rapped about the shooting and said: ‘I’m a pretty fly n**** that’ll shoot ya.’
Earlier this month, the hometown hip hop star spoke to high school students at Columbia University’s Teachers College and showed them his ankle monitor in an effort to encourage them to make the right decisions in life.
He said: ‘This comes from choices, choices I had to make at the time. It was either fight for my life or fight for my freedom…. Now I gotta fight to clear my name.’
The All About the Money rapper is due back in court on January 26 in regards to the May shooting.
